A Tribute to Count Basie
Bill Basie ruled the big band jazz world for over half a century. The Basically Basie Big Band was founded to help make sure that his music is always before the listening public by way of concerts, festivals, receptions and – yes – even dances! There is Basie music that is appropriate for them all . . . hence his long lasting success.
The Basically Basie Big Band under the direction of Jim Davey features many of Basie’s big hits . . . April in Paris, Jumpin’ at the Woodside, In a Mellow Tone, All of Me and, of course, Basie’s famous theme song, One O’Clock Jump.
